The Hermosa Beach Pier finally houses a fine dining restaurant, Palmilla Cocina y Tequila; home-style Mexican cuisine featuring the freshest seafood and the finest cuts of beef, along with an amazing selection of premium tequilas and globally inspired wines. Palmilla is brought to you by Greg and Ron Newman, the owners of Baja Sharkeez Restaurant Group, and designed by Gulla Jonsdottir of Rick Bayless’s ‘Red O’ fame. We are also very excited to introduce Executive Chef, Christina Cipres, to the South Bay. Chef Christina brings a passion for Latin foods and her amazing culinary skills will impress every guest. We have a lovely outdoor patio area, perfect for soaking up the sea breezes from the ocean just footsteps away. Indoors is eloquently designed with hand placed stones, awe-inspiring light fixtures from Spanish artisans and hand carved, illuminated tabletops. When dining with us, you will feel as if you’ve been transported to an upscale boutique hotel in beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, which is where much of the inspiration of the design came from. Greg and Ron Newman are extremely excited about this journey into the world of fine dining. “The ‘Baja Sharkeez’ brand has been, and continues to be, immensely enjoyable for us, and we’re gratified that our customers love us so much. With Palmilla, we are thrilled to be entering into an upscale segment of the restaurant business, one that has largely been over-looked in the Hermosa Beach.” He went on to say, “We are intent on wooing back the patrons that were once Baja Sharkeez fans that are now grown up, married and who desire a fine dining experience in their neighborhood. We also hope to draw foodies from out of the area, who may have never even thought of coming down to Hermosa Beach for a great meal.”
